About

The Spiritual Resource Foundation (TSRF) is a tax-exempt, non-profit 501(C)(3) foundation.  Its Mission is to “make the healing truth of Christian Science available in Russian-speaking lands”.

TSRF supports the attainment of its Mission through 1) prayer, 2) fundraising, and 3) disseminating funds where they will do the most good. It supports the Russian-speaking field (RSF) with a spiritual, shared conviction that every field can make its own demonstration of supply and that, once that fact is clearly seen, no further support will be needed.

Since the fall of the Iron Curtain in 1989, Christian Science Societies or informal groups have sprung up in Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Russia, and Ukraine.  They face opposition in the form of hostility to Western religion and laws restricting religious freedom.

Typical activities funded by TSRF activities include:

  • Providing financial support to help groups of Christian Scientists in Russia get started and become churches.
  • Translating the weekly Bible Lesson into Russian and making it available on the web in print and audio form.
  • Translating Christian Science literature. Shipping and printing books.
  • Supporting book fairs, lectures, workshops, etc.
  • Helping Russian Christian Science Associations bring speakers and students to class and annual meetings.
  • Maintaining web sites for fundraising and disseminating information to the RSF.
  • Other activities consistent with its Mission.

In May of 2015, TSRF began working with a Liaison Committee to the RSF (christiansciencerussia.com). This committee consists of practitioners and other Christian Scientists who are active in the RSF. They help TSRF by identifying the activities that are most effective in promoting our Mission, actively working to support those activities, accounting for funds disbursed, and reporting fruitage.

Although TSRF has no official connection with The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist in Boston, it works with The Mother Church to ensure its activities accord with the Church Manual.

See Workers or Directors for information on individuals working to fulfill TSRF’s mission.
